A swimwear or a swimming costume is a type of clothing that is designed to be worn during swimming or while participating in water activities such as water polo, water skiing, and surfing, or for activities done under the sun such as sun bathing. A swimwear can be designed to be skin tight or it can also be loosely fitting. It depends on one’s choice whether he or she wants to choose a swimwear that preserves modesty, or a one that reveals enough skin, not to be called nudity.
The garment is sometimes lined with a special fabric so that it doesn’t become transparent when wet. Men’s swimwear consists of swim trunks, thongs, Speedo briefs and board shorts and the women’s swimwear consists of bikinis, string bikinis, thongs, one-piece, G-strings etc.
